ICSI's Alisa Frik Receives Mozilla Grant

On December 18, Mozilla announced it had selected seven recipients of research grants geared toward keeping the Internet open and accessible. ICSI's Alisa Frik was selected for one of the grants for her proposal titled "Exploring the Boundaries of Passive Listening in Voice Assistants". Her project is one of seven selected for award.

ICSI Researchers Win Best Paper Award at 2019 IEEE Big MM

ICSI researchers Gerald Friedland and Jaeyoung Choi, along with co-authors Martha Larson and Alan Hanjalic, have won the best paper award at the 2019 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia Big Data for their work on “From Intra-Modal to Inter-Modal Space: Multi-task Learning of Joint Representation for Cross-Modal Retrieval." The paper will be available to read 

New German Postdoctoral Visitor Program

ICSI is pleased to announce that the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has approved a new postodoctoral visitor program with ICSI through the IFI Program. The program is administered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
