Abstract | The future fifth generation (5G) wireless system is expected not only to provide high throughput and coverage but also to enable highly reliable and low-latency wireless connections that are required in mission critical use cases, e.g., machine-type communication or industrial automation. Robust and low-latency connection can be enabled by channel diversity in the frequency domain. Thus, we study various diversity combining methods and propose a novel combining scheme, which is based on Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes. This application of LDPC is studied, and the features of the desired LDPC code are highlighted. The results show that the diversity combining methods significantly gain reliability as compared to non-combining methods. |
