The talk will be about a (brief) presentation of my research in GAPS-UPM (Group in Signal Processing Applications, Universidad Politecnica Madrid) since I joined it in 1990. It will cover topics in Speech Coding, Text-To-Speech, Speech and Speaker Recognition. I will also comment about one original application of using Speaker Recognition techniques to detect patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) syndrome. Finally, some directions for research during my stay in ICSI will be proposed and some input from the audience is expected and welcome at this point.
